Director Statement

I wrote and directed this short, Parallax, as a passion project. I wrote it in college, but wanted to keep moving forward and turning it to something real. I have always been inspired by Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan's ideas of a non linear story. I believe you can't tell a non-story correctly or well enough over any other medium than film. So that's exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted a story that was both concrete and vague at the same time. Giving the audience the idea of "what just happened" when it ends. This short will always be important to me because this is "the first". It also allowed me to learn. There were issues we had to tackle at each step along the way, but we fixed them and that makes this short that much more special.
